How we make it

From biocharto packaged batch.

An industrial line engineered for continuous operation. Eight documented stages. Every parameter monitored, every batch certified, every change logged.

The process · at a glance

Thermal steam activation.

Input: biochar. Output: activated carbon with controlled pore distribution, batch-level traceability, and declared CO₂e. The line operates 24/7 with shift handovers. Every critical parameter is instrumented and logged in the quality system.

Stages

The process, step by step.

01

Reception

Biochar arrives at plant, is weighed, sampled and registered. We do not process a batch that does not pass inbound control.

02

Drying

Biochar is dried to 5–7% humidity under controlled conditions. Lower moisture stabilizes kiln feed and reduces downstream energy consumption.

03

Dosed feeding

Calibrated-screw feeding into the rotary kiln. Mass flow is monitored continuously to keep activation at steady state.

04

Steam activation

Rotary kiln at 800–950°C with superheated steam as activator. This is where biochar transforms into activated carbon with the target pore structure.

05

Cooling

Controlled cooldown under inert atmosphere prevents re-oxidation. Exit temperature ≤ 100°C before any further handling.

06

Milling & sieving

Particle size controlled per SKU. Granular grades pass calibrated screens; powdered grades pass hammer milling and 325-mesh classification.

QC laboratory

Every batch is tested in-house: iodine number, BET, ash, moisture, pH, hardness, apparent density. Every shipment leaves with a Certificate of Analysis.

Bagging

Packed in 25 kg paper bags with PE liner, 500/1000 kg FIBC, or ISO containers for bulk. Palletized and stretch-wrapped.

Quality assurance

Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis.

Each shipment includes a CoA with iodine, BET, ash, moisture, pH, hardness, and apparent density — plus the ISO 14067-aligned CO₂e declaration. Traceability runs from biochar batch to shipment, and test methods reference ASTM or ISO standards.

Per-batch CoA

Nine-parameter physical and chemical assay, signed by QA.

Full traceability

From biochar batch to final packaging, auditable by customer or third party.

Third-party testing

SGS · ALS · Bureau Veritas · on request or by framework contract.
